What Ring For What Finger?
Because rings are so well loved but they don’t always do justice to our hands… I have deconstructed some types of fingers and matched them with some designs of rings in terms of their size…
So quickly here is my advice for matching the right ring to your finger so that firstly it is well noticed by other people (because when you wear jewellery, it is always nice when people comment on how great it looks on you), and secondly to best compliment your hand (after all, it is there to look good).
Long, fine fingers: I would suggest for this type of finger that it is best to wear rings of a medium or large size, or with a prominent motif. You can give larger rings their full value.
Long, large fingers: Opt for larger rings that will emphasise the length of your fingers. Avoid finer rings which can be lost on larger hands.
Medium, fine fingers: You can wear all types of ring, an average length supports larger rings, while fine fingers support finer rings.
Medium, large fingers: Medium to large rings are perfect for your fingers. They will bring out both the length of your finger and the jewellery itself.
Short, fine fingers: Wear fine to medium rings so as not to shorten the length of your finger.
Short, large fingers: Wear average or latticed rings to bring out the beauty of your hands.
Obviously these are just guidelines, there will always be designs that break the rules and fingers that do too! happy hunting! …Sarah…
